California Released Inmates is a private reference site, not a government office, and cannot confirm custody, secure release, post bond, or retrieve an official record.

California releases occur through separate state, county, federal, and immigration systems. Contact the office that held custody or created the needed record. A blank online result is not enough to prove release.
- CDCR custody, identity, or records: Search CIRIS. If no match appears, call the CDCR Identification Unit at 916-445-6713, Monday through Friday except holidays, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Pacific. Request release or discharge records through the CDCR Public Records Portal.
- County jail release: Use the County Directory to reach the sheriff or county records unit. The filing superior court may also hold the case disposition.
- Parole, PRCS, or probation: Contact the nearest DAPO regional unit for state parole. For PRCS, use the county agency named on the release notice or the county probation directory.
- Hearing or court record: Check the BPH schedule and published results for a parole proceeding. For a trial record, use the California Courts routing page and contact the filing superior court. A BPH grant does not prove release.
- VINE assistance: Search VINELink or call 1-866-277-7477. County participation and retained released-person results are not guaranteed.
- Federal or immigration custody: Use the BOP Inmate Locator or ICE Online Detainee Locator. ICE lists 1-888-351-4024, weekdays except holidays, 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Eastern, for unresolved current-status inquiries.
- Specific institution: The Facility Directory identifies the California custody facility and its local or statewide route.
